Who is Jesus: “The Return of the Lord”

Luke 21:25-56

“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us). Matthew 1:23

I. Look for the Lord’s return. (vs 25-28)

Revelation 17:15

“And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and glory.”

Luke 21:27

II. Know the Lord will return. (vs 29-33)

“The truth of the return of Jesus for His people, and the eternal union of Jesus and His people is to be a source of comfort for Christians“ David Guzik, Pastor and Author

III. Watch for the Lord’s return. (vs 34-36)

“He who testifies to these things says, ‘Surely I am coming soon.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.” Revelation 22:20

LET’S GO DEEPER:

1. What comes to your mind when you allow yourself to think Jesus may return today?

2. Is the end of this world and its evil, its sickness, and the second coming of Christ an encouraging idea to you? Why or why not?

3. What comes to mind when you think about Jesus returning the 2nd time? Do you believe it is important to discuss the 2nd return of Christ when we celebrate His birth? Why or why not?

4. Why do you suppose people gravitate towards individuals who seem to have egocentric personality traits? Cult leaders. How is that different to those who followed Jesus?
